stephen_keshiEmmanuel Emenike and Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi are among the five players still expected in the Eagles training camp ahead of Saturday’s match against Malawi.

According to Eagles top official Emmanuel Attah, the others are Elderson Echiejile, John Ogu and Emmanuel Emenike.

Emenike has moved to Turkish giants Fenerbache, while Ogu has been held back at his Portuguese base by flight connections.

Ameobi is set to make his home debut for the African champions as his two caps have been won in the United States of America and South Africa.

Attah disclosed that 18 players have so far reported at the team’s training camp in Calabar.

These players include Mikel Obi, Vincent Enyeama, Obinna Nsofor, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Nosa Igiebor, Efe Ambrose, Ogenyi Onazi, Austin Ejide and Uche Nwofor.

“The spirit in camp is very high and there are no injury worries,” said Attah.

Nigeria lead Group F on nine points, two points more than closest rivals Malawi, who need to win on Saturday to advance to the next stage of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The Flames of Malawi, who lost 1-0 ro Botswana in a warm-up match on Tuesday, forced a 1-1 draw when both teams clashed in the reverse fixture in June 2012.
