Ex-Nigeria youth international Olanrewaju Kayode has stated that he is very happy to have headed home the match winner for Maccabi Netanya in a 2-1 win at Hapoel Ra’anana in a relegation play-off game in Israel.
Maccabi Netanya now lead relegation play-off with 39 points from 28 games.
Kayode said it was important they won the game as they have to retain their top-flight league status.
“I am very happy to score the goal which won the game for us. It was a very important goal for me and the team because we need to win to remain in the top flight,” he said.
“It was a goal which I scored in the concluding minutes of the game. The goal is for my wife and son.”
