Former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu, has predicted a bright future for the Flying Eagles forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, as he advised that he should keep up his impressive performance.
Kanu has lauded the recent form of Awoniyi and feels that the Nigeria Youth international has what it takes to become one of football’s undisputed star players in future.
The 18-year-old has been scintillating so far this year helping the Nigeria U-20 side win the 2015 African Youth Championship as well as grabbing a brace that helped the Nigeria U-23 team qualify for the All African Games.
According to Papillo who is an ardent follower of the rookie, Awoniyi is the hottest Nigerian kid and should he remain consistent, he will become a star.
“Watched him play for U-17/U-20 and talked to him, our hottest kid and if he keeps doing his best he will be a star,” Kanu wrote on his Twitter handle.

Awoniyi who was part of the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup winning team is expected to lead the Flying Eagles’ attack when the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Youth Championship commences next month in New Zealand.
