alamieyeseighaFormer governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, has urged Nigerians to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

He said although Jonathan has not declared his interest in having a second term, what he has done to project the image of the country are enough for Nigerians to vote for him.

He also declared that the country belongs to all Nigerians and Jonathan has the right for another shot at the presidency.

Alamieyeseigha spoke in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital after visiting Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Jonathan was his deputy from May 29, 1999 to December 9, 2005 when he was impeached.

Alamieyeseigha added that Nigerians must give Jonathan’s transformation agenda a chance, if the nation must move forward.

He said: “We know what this country was like before Jonathan came in. This country was rotten, administration after administration, but we can see what effort he is making to transform it. It is unfortunate that we celebrated and keep celebrating people who destroyed this country. Goodluck Jonathan is a silent performer and in every sector, you can see his impact”.

Explaining the present predicament facing the country with an analogy of a woman breastfeeding a baby, but who suddenly removes the breast from the baby, he said the numerous challenges facing the country are the handiwork of people who felt power was taken away from them unjustly and who are bent on taking it back by whatever means.

“Nigeria is a complex country to rule. Nigerians must support President Jonathan and give him another term of four years so that all the transformational efforts of repositioning the country will yield the desired results,” he stressed.

To him, the coming of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not a threat to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or Jonathan’s reelection.
