President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Ambassador Ayo Oke as the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
Oke, who hails from Oyo State, takes over from the outgoing Director-General, Ambassador Ezekiel Olaniyi Oladeji, whose tenure has elapsed.
Oke is a career diplomat who was formerly at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London.
Until his appointment as Director-General, he was the Director (Regions) at the Headquarters of the NIA.
Jonathan also approved the appointments of Mr. E.O. Okafor (Anambra State) as Deputy Director-General (Operations) and Mr. Arap A. Yadam (Plateau State) as Deputy Director-General (Administration) of the NIA.
All three appointments are with immediate effect.
