Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State is leaving a debt of N104 billion for the incoming All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
The debt includes N90 billion for the uncompleted Dutse bye-pass construction and N14 billion for the Dutse International Airport project, Hadejia Eastern bye-pass road and Gagarawa-Bosuwa-Maigatari road.
Speaking during his last state Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Dutse, the state capital, on Thursday, he announced that he would hand over state affairs to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Lawal Abdu.
He said: “The SSG will, from now, oversee the state up to midnight of May 28 for the final exit of the present administration. I enjoin members of the state Exco to co-operate with the SSG who is now the Acting governor of Jigawa State”.
He immediately travelled to Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj (Umra) and declared he would not return until after the inauguration of the APC administration.
