The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Solomon Arase, has directed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Mr Ballah Nasarawa, to relocate to Kaduna State for effective supervision of security situation in the state.
Arase gave the directive in a statement by Acting Commissioner of Police, ACP Olabisi Kolawole, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) and made available to newsmen on Monday in Abuja.
It urged Nasarawa to evolve new intelligence gathering and crime-fighting techniques and methodologies to suit local challenges.
According to the statement, Arase also directed Police officers who have served in Kaduna State command for a period of six years and above to be transferred with corresponding replacement.
It charged the AIG to devise means of halting the incessant kidnapping as well as other forms of crimes and criminality, especially in Jere, Kagarko Local Government Area of the state.
In a related development, Arase has directed the Commissioners of Police in Kogi and FCT commands to improve on the surveillance network along Abuja-Lokoja-Okene, Kabba-Owo axis, to check incessant criminal activities in the areas.
The statement assured the citizenry of the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to their safety.
It assured that the Police in cooperation with other security agencies would continue to ensure strategic responses towards eliminating threat to internal security of the nation.
