Dr. Kemi Uthman Pinheiro, OFR, SAN, has reaffirmed his commitment to the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN), Lagos Branch, pledging his continued support for the association’s activities and forthcoming 2026 New Legal Year Programme.
Pinheiro gave the assurance when the leadership of MULAN Lagos paid him a special visit on September 1, 2026, as part of preparations for the branch’s New Legal Year Lectures and Reception scheduled for September 19.
The Senior Advocate, who is one of the association’s esteemed Patrons and longstanding supporters, also promised to support the forthcoming MULAN Lagos New Legal Year Programme in his usual generous manner.
The visit, according to MULAN, was an opportunity for the association to appreciate Pinheiro for his “continuous and unwavering support” for the branch and its activities over the years.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of MULAN Lagos, Mr. Adewunmi Ismail Adebayo, and comprised Professor F.A.R. Adeleke, Chairman of the MULAN Editorial Committee; Mr. Nasir Olawale Runmonkun, Chairman of the Planning Committee for the New Legal Year Programme; and other notable members of the branch.
The delegation’s visit was also significant as it was undertaken in the MULAN Lagos bus recently donated to the branch by Pinheiro.
The association described the bus as one of the enduring manifestations of the learned Silk’s generosity and commitment to the growth and development of MULAN Lagos.
The visit also afforded the delegation an opportunity to brief the Patron on preparations for the 2026 MULAN New Legal Year Lectures and Reception, which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 19, at 9 a.m. at the Shamsi Adisa Thomas Mosque Hall, Old Secretariat, Ikeja, Lagos.
The programme has as its theme, “Justice, Through Faith and Integrity.”
Also discussed during the visit was the forthcoming public presentation of a journal produced by the MULAN Lagos Editorial Committee in honour of Pinheiro.
The journal, which is the first publication of its kind by the Lagos Branch, was produced under the chairmanship of Professor F.A.R. Adeleke and is scheduled for public presentation on November 20, 2026.
The association said the publication represents another milestone in the intellectual development of MULAN Lagos and recognises the contributions of the learned Silk to the association.
The visit was therefore marked by a combination of appreciation, consultation and renewed commitment to the objectives of the association.
MULAN Lagos said Pinheiro’s sustained support had continued to strengthen the branch and advance its programmes, adding that the association would continue to welcome support and sponsorship for its activities aimed at promoting the welfare and professional development of its members and advancing the interests of the Muslim Ummah in Lagos State and beyond.
