Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson has promised that despite the dwindling financial resources, occasioned by the general economic downturn, his administration will continue to fulfil its obligations to the people of the state, especially the workforce.

Dickson, who gave the assurance in his opening remarks at the 62nd State Executive Council meeting in Yenagoa, stated that the government will continue to do its best to deliver on its mandate of providing quality infrastructure, social amenities and welfare of the citizenry.

He commended the public service and the entire people of the Sate for their support and understanding, in spite of the difficult times, stressing that, the Government will keep faith with its policies and programmes geared towards making life more meaningful for Bayelsans.

“I want to express my gratitude to Bayelsans for their support, understanding and prayers offered for the peace and development of the state. Government will continue to meet its obligations to the expectations of our people.

Particularly, I want to also thank the public service for their support and understanding to bear with us in our trying moments.

“Though, the economic downturn experienced in the state is due to the dwindling national economy, the government is working very hard to turn things around by diversifying the economy of the state.”

Dickson also commended members of the executive council for their dedication to service, continued loyalty and love, including their prayers for the administration.
