The Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, is bereaved.
His 87-year-old mother, Deaconess Betsy Ikpeazu, died in the early morning hours of last Sunday at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Ituku-Ozara, in Enugu State.
Late Mrs Ikpeazu, a registered nurse, lived with an artificial valve in her heart for 20 years, returned to Nigeria from the United States (U.S.) in May, ahead of her son’s swearing-in as the fourth democratically-elected governor of Abia State.
