Eminent businessman and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has described the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe Aladesanmi 111, as a rare statesman who is committed to the well-being of his people.
He acknowledged the role of the foremost traditional ruler in advancing the cause of peaceful co-existence among Nigerians regardless of political, ethnic and religious divides.
In a statement by his Special Adviser, Prince Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said: ” I wish to join the people of Ekiti State in celebrating an outstanding personality, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, who clocked 25 glorious years on the throne of his forefathers. It is indeed a milestone, considering the unprecedented development in Ado-Ekiti and it’s environs, which is attributed the dynamic and committed leadership of the Ewi of Ado Ekiti. We are proud of Kabiyesi’s role on national issues especially his counsel on peace and unity. My prayer is that God will continue to give his Majesty excellent health in the service to humanity.”.
The former governor remarked that the Ado-Ekiti monarch is a rallying and reference point beyond the traditional institution.
‎Kalu, while congratulating the government and people of Ekiti State and the Ado- Ekiti traditional council, wished the monarch more fulfilling years on the exalted throne.
