Odion Ighalo insists his heroics in front of goal is primarily down to the performance of the Watford team.
The striker netted a double as Watford hammered Liverpool 3-0 at Vcarage Road on Sunday.
Ighalo however refuses to take the plaudits and commends his teammates for helping attain impressive heights this season.
“The first goal was down to all round team performance right from the first minute.
“The coach (Quique Sanchez Flores) told us before the game that we had to go out there and play without fear.
“He said Liverpool would be the ones to fear us as we were coming into the game on the back of three straight wins.
“It motivated us and we are very happy that we won the game.
“It was a good thing that I scored but it was really all about the team’s performance from start to finish,” he said after the game.
Ighalo then took the time to specially salute club captain, Troy Deeney who provided the assist for his first goal.
“When Troy got the ball (for the first goal), I ran behind the defence because I knew he was going to pass the ball to me.
“He saw my run and played the ball to me. It’s not really something we work on in training but we just have a great connection.
“We are happy and we want to continue playing like that,” he said.
Ighalo has now scored 12 league goals this season.
