Oluwatosin Ajibade known as Mr Eazi, Anidugbe Daniel, known as Kiss Daniel, and Dare Art Alade bagged awards in different categories at the eleventh edition of the HIP television HEADIES music award night.
The eleventh edition was compeered by Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz, a musician and Adesua Etomi an actress in Lagos.
The award was a medium to recognise artists, producers, and music icons who performed well in the year under review.
In the category for the Best Street Music, Olamide Adedeji’s “Who You Epp” won over Olumilemilade Alejo, known as Ycee’s “Jagaban” and others who were nominated.
Patoranking featuring Sakordie’s “No Kissing” won the category for the Best Reggea/Dancehall Single over Jesse Jags’s “Jaga Love”, Cynthia Morgan’s “Molowo”, among other artists nominated in that category.
Emmanuel Idakula known as Bez won the category for the Best Alternative Song with his song titled, “You Suppose know”.
At the category for Best Pop Single, Adekunle Gold’s “Pick Up, Kiss Daniels’s “Mama”, Humble Smith ft. Davido’s “Osinachi” and other artists were nominated.
Harrisong featuring Kcee, Orezi, Olamide and Inyanya’s “Reggea Blues” won the Best Pop Single.
Mr Laolu Akins emerged the legend for the Hall of Fame award for being relevant in the music industry for 34 years, while Falz featuring Simi’s “Soldier Go” won the Best Collaboration.
In the category for the Song of the Year were “Fada Fada” by Phyno ft. Olamide, “Pick Up” by Adekunle Gold, “Osinachi” by Humblesmith ft. Davido, with “Fada Fada” as the winner.
Mr Eazi was distinguished as the Next Rated Artist in the year under review and got the prize of a car, while Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid) was the artist of the year and Chinedu Okoli, known as Flavour gained Special Artist Recognition.
Kiss Daniel was nominated in five categories and emerged the winner in three, making him the artist with the highest number of awards for the night.
Dare Art Alade followed as he bagged two different awards for the Best R&B and the Best Recording of the year.
Other categories that won awards at the HIP TV HEADIES were Best Vocal Performance Male, Best Vocal Performance Female, Producer of the year, Best Recording of the year and other categories.
Artists like Daddy Showky, Tony Tetula, Ras Kimono, Tuface Idibia,Sheyi Shay performed at the award night, while some comedians cheered the audience with their jokes.
Music entertainers and icons who lost their lives in the year under review like Babatunde Okungbowa popularly known as OJB Jezreel, Olumuyiwa Osinuga known as Nomoreloss and others were also acknowledged at the award night.
Most artists that emerged winners in different categories were absent to receive their awards, while more than 200 artists had received the HEADIES award since its inception in 2005.
