*Consults party leaders, supporters on next direction
Abdulrahman Haske, a frontline aspirant in Thursday’s All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Adamawa State, has raised measured concerns over the conduct of the exercise, while reaffirming his commitment to party unity and democratic ideals.
In an interview granted on Fiday, Haske pointed to irregularities that, in his view, require careful review in the interest of strengthening internal party democracy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
These, he said, include the absence of collation processes in some Local Government Areas, irregularities in voting in certain polling units, and limited access to collation procedures before the final declaration of results.
“It was surprising that while we were waiting for the collation of the votes to happen; what happened to our greatest surprise was declaration of the winner. We have our data and we would consult and state our position over the weekend,” he said.
While acknowledging that a candidate has been declared, Haske stressed that the credibility of any electoral process must rest not only on outcomes but also on transparency, fairness, and the full inclusion of all aspirants.
“The integrity of the process is as important as the outcome. Transparent and inclusive procedures remain essential to sustaining trust, confidence, and unity within our great party,” he stated.
Despite his concerns, Haske struck a tone of sportsmanship and responsibility, urging restraint among his supporters and calling for calm across the state.
He disclosed that consultations are ongoing with party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters to determine the appropriate next course of action within the framework of the party’s constitution.
“As responsible democrats, we are engaging widely to review the exercise and explore all legitimate avenues available to us. Our decisions will be guided by due process, party unity and the best interests of Adamawa State,” he said.

“To our resilient and committed supporters across the 21 Local Government Areas of Adamawa State, we salute your courage, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment in standing by us throughout the governorship direct primaries.
“Together, we fought a strong and determined battle with conviction, unity, and hope for a better Adamawa. This journey is far from over, and by the grace of Almighty Allah, we shall emerge stronger, more united, and more determined in the days ahead.
“I am deeply grateful for the support, encouragement, and belief in the vision we have shared. Your commitment, energy, and solidarity have been truly humbling, and I thank Almighty Allah for how far He has brought us. I particularly appreciate my team members, campaign council, AB Haske Foundation and the media for their thorough coverage of the process,” he said.
Reiterating his loyalty to the APC, Haske emphasised that the broader objective remains the unity, stability, and progress of both the party and Adamawa State, emphasising the importance of internal democracy in the party.
“Regardless of the outcome, our collective commitment to unity, progress, and the advancement of Adamawa State remains unwavering,” he added.
He concluded with a call for peace, patience, and continued faith in democratic processes.
“We urge all our supporters and the good people of Adamawa State to remain calm, peaceful and law abiding as consultations continue. Our strength lies in our unity, maturity and shared vision for a better future”.
