The Pilgrim Walfare Agency (PWA), in Sokoto State, says it will soon commence the refund of 2022 hajj fares to the pilgrims from the state who were unable to perform the hajj exercise.

Alhaji Shehu Dange, the agency’s Permanent Secretary made the disclosure while addressing newsmen in Sokoto on Friday.

According to him, the 2022 pilgrimage was very conducive and it recorded a lot of successes.

Dange said that the PWA had since made the necessary arrangements to ensure any pilgrim who was to be refund was fully captured in the process.

“We have 25 intending pilgrims who were  unable to attain hajj, out of which five were unable to attain following health and other related issues, while 20 others were not able to obtain visa.

“More so, some of the pilgrims who made their payments earlier had over paid and were sorted out for repayment of their balance,” he said.

The permanent secretary added that the repayment exercise will commence in the last week of November.

He said, “This in order for the agency to be able to conclude all the necessary arrangements toward the success of the exercise.”

He reassured the agency’s commitment to remain resolute in ensuring the best for the future intending pilgrims from the state.
