It is with consternation and sadness that I learnt of the passing of Engr. Joseph Makoju, the former Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement Company Plc.
On behalf of my family and associates, I offer my sincerest condolences to the Makoju family, friends and associates of the deceased who excelled in both the public and private sectors during his lifetime.
Engr. Makoju was a well-respected technocrat who will be remembered for his sterling administrative qualities, especially when he served as Special Adviser (Electric Power) to former President Goodluck Jonathan; Honorary Adviser on Electric Power to President Muhammadu Buhari, National Council member, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, as well as on the West African Power Pool Executive Board.
While his shocking passage remains painful, we take solace from his exemplary life steeped in courage, public service and dedication to duty and love of Nigeria.
May Almighty God grant those greatly hurt by his demise the fortitude to bear the loss.
