A human development foundation, Feedthestreet, has reached out to 300 children on the streets and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
The Convener, Feedthestreet, Ibukun Omolaso, disclosed this in an interview on Tuesday in Lagos.
Omolaso said the objective of the initiative was to put smiles on the faces of the children.
She said the team visited six wards at LUTH namely Ward E3, Ward D2, Children Oncology, Neo-Natal Unit, Alima Atta Oncology Ward, and Children Emergency ward.
She said the foundation shared 300 food packs with children at the hospital, 55 officials on duty and parents as well as other children on the streets.
According to her, the program, which is in its third year, is to celebrate with those who cannot celebrate with their families due to challenging circumstances.
`The objective of the foundation is to drive a positive change and human development by advocating equitable food policies, promoting education, ensuring menstrual hygiene and enhancing health access.
“We aspire to empower the underserved particularly children and young girls to reach their full potential,” she said.
Omolaso said that items donated included essential toiletries, boxed packaged food items to the dedicated nurses and doctors on duty and gift packs to children.
She said that gifts to doctors and nurses were in recognition of their tireless efforts in providing care and support to young patients.
Omolaso added that the team visited some streets in Ojuelegba and distributed gift packs to children.

“The gesture did not only bring joy and laughter to the children but also created a sense of unity among the outreach team, inspiring them to continue making a positive impact in the lives of others,” she said.
Also speaking, the Deputy Director Nursing Services at LUTH, Mrs Ojie Sarat, appreciated the team for bringing smiles to the faces of the beneficiaries.
“We hope that this outreach will bring some comfort and hope into their lives,” Sarat said.
