Forte Oil leads gainers’ table as NSE market indicators drop by 0.25%

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday ended on a negative note with the market indicators dropping by 0.25 per cent.
The market capitalisation lost N22 billion or 0.25 per cent to close at N10.423 trillion from N10.449 trillion achieved on Monday.
Also, the All-Share Index, which opened at 30,405.88, dipped by 75.30 points or 0.25 per cent to close at 30,330.58 due to price depreciation posted by some highly capitalised equities.
Seplat topped the losers’ chart, dropping by N24.36 to close at N225.54 per share.

Mobil trailed with N3.43 to close at N145.07, while Dangote Cement lost N1.51 to close at N166.50 per share.

Cadbury declined by N1.10 to close at N22.90, while Guinness shed 76k to close at N149.99 per share.

Conversely, Forte Oil led the gainers’ table, appreciating by N3.20 to close at N263 per share.

Nigerian Breweries came second with a gain of N1.34 to close at N141, while Unilever gained 43k to close at N46.50 per share.

National Salt increased by 25k to close at N7, while Champion Breweries inched by 14k to close at N4.50 per share.

Access Bank emerged the most traded stock, exchanging 83.36 million shares worth N443.47 million in 152 deals.

Wapic Insurance trailed with 64.38 million shares valued at N32.19 million traded in five deals, while Zenith Bank sold 29.57 million shares worth N492.36 million in 226 deals.

GTBank accounted for 24.12 million shares worth N580.02 million transacted in 225 deals, while Diamond Bank sold 13.58 million shares valued at N43.47 million exchanged in 77 deals.

In all, investors exchanged 300.52 million shares worth N3.05 billion in 3,112 deals.

This was against 419.95 million shares valued at N2.09 billion sold in 3,056 deals on Monday.
