Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) has commended Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his sterling performance in the development of the state and in delivering dividends of democracy to residents of Ekiti.

FIBAN members, who came in their numbers, gave the commendation on Tuesday during an endorsement road walk to the Governor’s office, Ado-Ekiti to demonstrate their unflinching support for the Governor whom they said had , since inception of his administration, included them in the state’s governance process.

Speaking on behalf of the Body, the Chairman, Mr Femi Aremu, affirmed that Governor Oyebanji has performed creditably well in allowing various professional bodies in the state to thrive and making the state a land of prospects for all classes of citizens and professional bodies in less than three years of his administration adding that the feat is sufficient to earn the Governor reelection in the forthcoming polls.

While acknowledging the Governor for his open-door policy and outstanding leadership which has brought about remarkable achievements in the areas of welfare, education, health and other sectors as well as other projects in the state, the FIBAN chairman also assured Governor Oyebanji of their support for whoever becomes his anointed candidate in 2030 to ensure continuity of his good works in the state.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Oyebanji, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro commended FIBAN for identifying with the Governor. She assured that the Governor will work assiduously to ensure he continues to deliver dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of residents of the state irrespective of the political leaning for continuous growth and development of the state.

Prof. Adubiaro recognised the contributions of FIBAN in spreading quality information through their programmes and ensuring peaceful coexistence in the society. She promised that government will continue to deepen the partnership existing between them and government in the interest of the people and state by doing more for Ekiti people.

She assured the people of Ekiti State of the commitment of Governor Oyebanji to continue to prioritize the welfare of the people, adding that regular payment of workers’ salaries, pensioners’ gratuities and pension have been the hallmark of the governor’s administration in the state since inception.

Also at the rally were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Chief Jide Awe, Special Adviser, Gender Empowerment and Mobilisation Mrs Kemi Olaleye, Director General, Community Communication and Mrs Mary Oso-Omotoso, among others.
