Nigeria’s Vice-President, Kashim Shettima, has assured that the Federal Government will continue to honour the sacrifices made by members of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Shettima gave the assurance on Saturday in Maiduguri, Borno State, while paying condolences to the Nigerian Army and the state government over a recent attack that claimed the lives of senior military officers.
Among those killed was Brigadier-General Oseni Braimah, alongside other personnel who died in the line of duty.
The Vice-President emphasized that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to supporting the military through improved welfare and sustained operational backing.
He described the fallen officers as heroes who dedicated their lives to protecting the nation and ensuring the safety of citizens.
“These men served with courage and stood in defence of our communities, our families, and our future,” Shettima said.
He noted that the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces highlight the high price often paid to maintain peace and national security.
Shettima reiterated the government’s resolve to continue recognising and honouring such sacrifices while strengthening support systems for serving personnel.
The visit underscores ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to boost morale within the military and reinforce its commitment to national security.
