The Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hulayt Omidiran, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adeniyi, following the approval of an extension of his tenure by President Bola Tinubu.

Omidiran described the development as a vote of confidence in Adeniyi’s leadership, reforms, and contributions to national development.

The message was contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by the FCC spokesperson, Ademola Lawrence.

Extension Reflects Confidence in Leadership

Omidiran said the extension reflects trust in Adeniyi’s ability to sustain ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Customs Service.

She noted that his leadership has strengthened institutional efficiency, improved accountability, and enhanced service delivery.

According to her, these efforts have boosted public confidence in the agency’s operations.

Customs Reforms and Economic Contributions

The FCC chairman highlighted key areas of progress under Adeniyi’s leadership, including revenue generation, trade facilitation, and border security management.

She said the Nigeria Customs Service plays a vital role in supporting government economic policies and ensuring smooth trade operations.

Omidiran added that the agency’s reforms have contributed to economic stability and improved regulatory compliance in cross-border trade.

Call for Continued Service Excellence

She urged the Customs boss to build on his achievements during the renewed tenure, expressing confidence in his capacity to deliver further results.

Omidiran also wished him success, good health, and divine guidance as he continues in office.

Message of Support

“The extension of your tenure is a testament to your outstanding leadership, dedication and remarkable progress recorded under your stewardship,” she said.

“May your renewed tenure bring further achievements and lasting contributions to Nigeria’s growth and prosperity.”
