Fayose: APC will fail woefully in Ekiti

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has declared that the anti-people programmes allegedly introduced into the State civil service during ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi–led administration, was enough reason for Ekiti people to shun All Progressives Congress in the February general elections.
Speaking in Ilawe-Ekiti, headquarters of Ekiti South West Local Government during a campaign rally, Fayose lamented that Fayemi was owing workers a staggering sum of N7.669 billion in terms of deductions, outstanding salaries and allowances before he left office on October 16, 2014.
Fayose lamented that the same Fayemi’s administration that was indebted to the teachers to the tune of N416 million being
outstanding two months salaries, had the effrontery to build a palatial Governor’s Lodge on Ayoba hill at the sum of N3.3 billion, describing the policy as wicked and inhuman.
The governor, however, urged the highly expectant Ekiti residents to be patient with his government, saying his government has no magic to perform in view of the present economic predicament of the state.
Fayose told the mammoth crowd to reject all the candidates of the party, including its presidential candidate, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, down to Assembly candidates in the forthcoming polls, stating that APC members lack the temperament to govern those at the grassroots.
“To let you know the level of finances of the state, a sum of N800 million is being deducted from source in Abuja from our monthly allocation. And there was no way you can negotiate because there was an agreement reached under Irrevocable Standing Payment Order (ISPO) by Fayemi’s Government with the capital market.
“Under this context, I realised that Ekiti won’t be able to pay salaries, I had to beg some of the banks that we are also indebted to being money borrowed by Fayemi to give six months moratorium and that is why we can pay salaries and deductions in the salaries paid to workers between April –June, 2013.”
He charged the electorate to reject a party that had plunged the state into financial crisis for four years during the polls, saying their coming into Ekiti government will be catastrophic to the people.
Speaking on his political career since 2003, Fayose said: “I have considered my return to Ekiti Government House as rare mercy of God. And I have realised that God had done this magic through you. I am like a house that was built by you that needs to be fenced, so that robbers won’t be able to penetrate.
“That is why I am appealing to you to vote for the PDP in all elections in the February elections. You have tasted our opposition and likewise my government and you know I am better off , because I know exactly where the shoe pinches. I am always on the same page with you.
“That was why I came up with candidates who would not take your votes and run away the way the APC members in the State and Federal Houses have been doing in the last four years.
“Whether somebody from your town is picked as APC candidate or not, just because of the love you have for me and my ability to deliver, vote for PDP. And I want to assure you of equitable distribution of resources within the limit of the resources available to Ekiti State during my tenure,” Fayose said.
Fayose threatened that he would personally contribute to the political doom of any PDP candidate, who fails to deliver to the people after defrauding them of their votes.
He promised that his government is fine-tuning all arrangements for speedy conduct of the Local Government election in the state, so that the people at the grassroots can be adequately taken care of by his government.
