Eze-Iyamu unveils plans for Edo, says ‘Oshiomhole’s administration is full of hypocrisy, deceit, corruption’

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has received knocks from former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Eze-Iyamu, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, while unveiling his plans for the South-South state, accused the governor of squandering the over N1 trillion federal revenue he received since assuming office in 2008.
To him, the sum was squandered on “highly inflated projects that are not evenly distributed across the state”.
Eze-Iyamu is a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
He attacked the governor while presenting a paper entitled, “Edo State Economy: The Way out” during a town hall meeting in Benin organised by a group, House2House Initiative.
He said: “The Oshiomhole administration has excelled in wealth consumption but failed woefully in wealth creation. The problems of the incumbent government are hypocrisy, corruption, deceit and lack of agenda. It does not patronise local businesses. How does an economy grow when government engages only one consultant to quantify civil, electrical, structural and mechanical jobs? The said consultant is given schools, roads, and hospitals to quantify, supervise and approve payments.
“The state government prides itself as not owing salaries, but this statement is not true. Staff of our tertiary institutions are being owed arrears of salaries arising from the insufficient subventions government gives to them to pay salaries.
“The reason why the state government is not owing the core civil servants is because numbers of workers in the service have been so decimated by retirement, death and dismissals that the total number remaining is less than two thousands in a state where there are so many unemployed graduates.”
He said if elected on September 10, he would look inward to develop the natural economic factors and focus on priorities while avoiding waste and not subjecting citizens and residents to unbearable tax policies.
