An explosion rocked Rivers State on Monday night.
Some watchers believe it was the aftermath of threats by some militant groups to attack oil installations in the state in response to Supreme Court’s withholding of Rivers allocation due to the ongoing political crisis between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The explosion rocked the Trans-Niger Pipeline at Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area, near the Bodo-Bonny Road under construction.
The affected section of the major pipeline is currently on fire, though the exact cause of the explosion remains unknown.

There is tension in the oil-bearing state as the pro-Wike lawmakers are threatening to impeach the governor.
