Former junior international, Dimeji Lawal, on Friday said that the current flop by 3SC FC of Ibadan in the Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) would be addressed by their fans soon.
Lawal said in Lagos that 3SC, as one of the most decorated clubs in Nigeria, could not be left to bad fortunes.
3SC having returned to the elite division of the league in 2012/2013 season has had mixed fortunes in their campaign.
The club escaped relegation by the whiskers in the 2014/2015 season and its campaign in the 2015/2016 has been uninspiring.
The Oluyole warlords presently occupy the 16th position in the 19 club competition with 26 points from 22 league matches. It has won 8, drew 2 and lost 12 matches.
On their plans for reviving the club, Lawal said their darling team would enjoy more support from ex-internationals who were its beneficiaries.
“The recent form of Shooting Stars is something to worry about, but I assure you that they will return to the zenith of the league where they belonged to in the 1970s and 1980s.
“The problem with 3SC is a general problem which is funding; as we all know, the country is presently experiencing economic recession
which other stakeholders are looking into.
“I appeal to 3SC fans all over the world not to lose hope in the club because of its fortunes now as this may be a temporary setback.
“Soon, we shall have the last laugh on the club. 3SC is a club with a tradition, legacy and history and will soon be back on its feet,’’ he said.
