Super Eagles stand-in captain, Vincent Enyeama, has expressed optimism that the Nigerian team would force the bitter pills down the throat of the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia.
“We are glad we arrived safely in Addis Ababa and now our main focus will be our game against Ethiopia. In football you cannot judge a team until after 90 minutes but we hope to get the win in Addis though we know it will be a tough game.”
Enyeama though was unhappy with the standard of the pitch but alluded to the fact the team had prepared well tactically and technically to soak any pressure against Ethiopia.
“The pitch looks very dry but all in all we will give our best in any circumstances as we have reached a crucial stage where every player dreams of the World Cup,” Enyeama said in Addis Ababa.
Enyeama has played an integral part in the World Cup qualifiers and is one of the veterans in the Nigerian team.
