Enyeama returns to France, out of Bafana game

Back-ache victim, Vincent Enyeama, has returned to his club in France after being excused from Sunday’s international friendly with South Africa in Nelspruit on health ground.
He has been replaced by Daniel Akpeyi.
The Super Eagles’ goalkeeper and skipper was not a happy man on his big day, as the team surprisingly lost 0-1 to Uganda in Uyo on the occasion of his 100th senior cap for Nigeria. But he commendably overcame the sad feeling to turn up at the Uyo office of NFF partner, Globacom, on Thursday to give out N5,000 recharge cards to 100 subscribers of the telecommunications company.
Beneficiaries were selected from a competition organized by Globacom, and it was an exciting time for the veteran goalkeeper to bond with his own people at GloWorld, before flying out to France aboard an Air France plane from the Port Harcourt International Airport.
Globacom also presented the Eagles skipper with i-Phone 6 on which he will be able to make calls for free for the next one year.
Enyeama, who earned his 100th cap in the 0-1 loss to Uganda at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday, will not get a 101st appearance for the Super Eagles.
“Vincent has been ruled out of the match with Bafana Bafana due to back injury. He suffered a relapse of the injury while playing in the game against Uganda and the coaches wanted to substitute him during the game but thought otherwise and allowed him to finish it.
“But right now he is definitely out of the next game and a replacement is certain to be called up for him,” Super Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye told supersport.com on Thursday.
Caretaker Nigeria manager Daniel Amokachi has now handed Warri Wolves goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi a late call up to replace Enyeama.
“The camp of the national team would no longer welcome average players or good players with poor attitude.”
