The Governorship Candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) in Ebonyi, Mr Tony Usulor, and his supporters, have adopted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, Dr IfeanyiChukwuma Odii, for the March 11 poll.
Usulor said at a press conference in Abakaliki on Wednesday that the party resolved to support the governorship candidate of PDP to rescue Ebonyi and bring good governance to the people.
“We have resolved to endorse a credible candidate, who has the capacity to drive the economy and move Ebonyi forward.
“I urge our supporters from the 13 Local Government Areas of the state to vote for the Governorship Candidate of PDP, Odii in Saturday’s gubernatorial poll.
“Today, Wednesday, I step down to support the man, who the people have accepted for the governorship seat.
“Odii is the people’s candidate and I urge our members to support him.
Also, the state Chairman of NRM, Mr Stanley Ogodo, said the party decided to join forces with PDP in order to ensure a better Ebonyi.
Ogodo urged all NRM members and supporters in the state to come out in their numbers on Saturday to vote Odii for governor.
“Odii is standing out among all other contestants of different political parties in Ebonyi.
“He is competent, credible, loyal, reliable and dedicated to the people from the grassroots,” the state party chairman said.
In a response, Odii, represented by his running mate, Mr Igwe Nwagu, said that he was ready to run an all inclusive government, if elected.
“I welcome you to the party and promise that when we come on board, we shall run an inclusive government.
“We are not going to run a discriminatory government,” Nwagu said.
