Dutsin-ma forum honors Radda, Shema, 20 others for community development

Dutsin-ma Development Forum (DDF), Katsina State, has honoured Gov. Dikko Radda, former State Governor, Ibrahim Shema and 20 other illustrious sons for their tremendous contributions to the development of the society and the area in general.
Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Sabiu Liadi, said that they started as a students union organisation about 40 years ago.
Since that time, he said, they organised themselves to pay school fees for orphans, donate school uniforms to them and conduct extra lessons for final year students in the area.
Liadi further said that they also numbered and named almost all houses and streets in Dutsin-ma town, for easy location and identification.
He said that they also pay WAEC and NECO examination fees to some less-privileged students annually to enable them pursue their education at tertiary level.
Liadi revealed that the forum attached students to some artisans for vocational training, that would assist them to become self reliant.
He said that was how they started and continue up to now, adding that some personalities also joined hands with them and making significant contributions to the development of Dutsin-ma Local Government.
The chairman, therefore, thanked such individuals and solicited for the support of others to come to the aid of the less-privileged in the society.
In his remarks, the District Head of Dutsin-ma, who is the “Yandakan Katsina”, Alhaji Sada Muhammad-Sada, thanked the forum for the good deeds it has been doing in supporting the needy.
He urged the members of the forum to intensify efforts in sustaining the tempo and urged other people to join hands with the group for the development of the area.
Muhammad-Sada called on youth associations to ensure unity among themselves, pointing out, “nothing can be achieved without unity.”
In his remarks, Radda, represented by the State’s Head of Service, Alhaji Usman Isyaku, commended the forum for its efforts in moving the society forward.
He said that the state government was committed to designimg policies and programmes that would improve the living condition of the people and move the state forward.
Radda, therefore, urged people to continue to support the government to enable it take the state to greater heights.
The awardees included the State’s Head of Service, Alhaji Usman Isyaku, Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Bishir Tanimu and the Chairman,  State Teachers’ Service Board, Alhaji Sada Ibrahim-Sada.
Others were Alhaji Mustapha Zubairu, Alhaji Shehu Ishiye, Alhaji Usman Abba-Jaye, Nuraddeen Abdullahi, and Kabir Musa, among others.
Responding on behalf of the awardees,  Tanimu, thanked the group for finding them worthy of the award.
Tanimu assured to continue to do more in supporting the less- privileged ones and rendering community development services for the development of the area.
