Diego Simeone handed three-game touchline ban

Athletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone, has been given a three-game touchline ban from La Liga, meaning he will spend the rest of the Spanish season watching from the stands.
The Argentine manager, 45, best known for being the recipient of David Beckham’s boot in Euro 1996, appeared to tell a ball boy to throw a ball on the pitch to disrupt Malaga as they broke forward during Athletico’s 1-0 won on Saturday. Simeone was sent to the stands at half time of the match due to the incident.
Athletico, who are second to Barcelona on goal difference in the standings, have 10 days to appeal the decision. If not they will be without the game day input on their manager for their crucial games against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, the trip to Levante on May 8 and the season finale against Celta Vigo on May 15.
However Simeone’s ban does not cover this evening’s first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.
