Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli took to Twitter account on Monday to have a joke about his birthday.
The England international turned 20 on Monday.
He ended his time as a teenager by scoring the opening goal in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Manchester United.
After seeing off his teenage years in style, he joked: “How time flies. Feels like just yesterday I was 19.”
Tottenham fans will be hoping Alli’s development in his early twenties continues just as dramatically as it has so far since he joined them from MK Dons.
Dele Alli can’t have enjoyed too many birthday presents sweeter than scoring the first as Tottenham blitzed Louis van Gaal’s hapless Manchester United.
He woke up the morning after out of his teenage years, reaching the grand old age of 20 on Monday during a season his development has accelerated at an electrifying pace.
Alli is set to become a mainstay in elite football’s sphere – certainly with England, starting at this summer’s European Championship.
