The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, David Mark, has congratulated former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo as he marks his 89th birthday.

In a statement released on Thursday by his media aide, Paul Mumeh, Mark praised Obasanjo for his dedication and lasting contributions to Nigeria’s development and unity.

According to Mark, the former leader has played a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape through decades of service in both the military and civilian administrations.

He described Obasanjo as a courageous and disciplined statesman whose commitment to national progress and stability has made a lasting impact on the country’s democratic journey.

He added that the former president remains an important voice in national affairs and a source of inspiration for many current and future leaders across Africa.

The ADC chairman offered prayers for continued good health, wisdom, and strength for Obasanjo, noting that his experience and leadership remain valuable not only to Nigeria but to the entire African continent.
