Daddy Freeze Appeals to Nigerian Army to Release Soldiers Arrested Over Peller’s Wedding

Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has appealed to the Nigerian Army to release and forgive two serving soldiers reportedly arrested for providing security at the wedding of social media personalities Peller and Jarvis in Lekki, Lagos.

The appeal followed reports that the soldiers were taken into custody over their alleged involvement in an unauthorised deployment during the high-profile wedding ceremony.

Videos widely shared on social media showed uniformed military personnel managing crowds and providing security at the private event.

One of the viral clips captured a soldier escorting one of the social media personalities through a large crowd, prompting public debate over the presence of military personnel at a privately organised celebration.

Reacting to reports of the soldiers’ arrest, Daddy Freeze released a video on his social media platforms urging military authorities to exercise compassion in handling the matter.

According to him, the soldiers played a vital role in maintaining order and preventing security breaches during the wedding.

He argued that the personnel helped control the crowd when guests and celebrities arrived, preventing vehicles from being overwhelmed by attendees.

Daddy Freeze maintained that their actions contributed to the protection of lives and property throughout the event.

He also called on Nigerians to support efforts aimed at securing the release of the soldiers, insisting that many guests benefited from the security they provided.

The incident has continued to generate mixed reactions online. While some social media users believe the soldiers should face disciplinary action in accordance with military regulations, others have supported Daddy Freeze’s call for leniency.

The Nigerian Army has consistently maintained that serving personnel are prohibited from undertaking private security assignments or participating in deployments outside official duties without proper authorisation.

As of the time of reporting, the Army had not issued any additional statement regarding the reported arrest beyond its established position on unauthorised deployments.
