CrownHill University screen, audit staff

The CrownHill University (CHU), Eyenkorin, Ilorin, has inaugurated a six-man committee to begin a comprehensive screening and auditing of its staff.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the the institution, Prof. Ayodele Soladoye, inaugurated the committee in Ilorin on Monday.

He said that the exercise was aimed at restructuring and repositioning the institution for optimal staff productivity, resource allocation and application to ensure the production of quality graduates in a competitive and technology driven world.

Soladoye charged the university management to act appropriately and urgently on the outcome and recommendations of the committee.

He expressed confidence in the screening and audit committee whom he said were experienced considering the antecedents of its members.

The committee comprised Prof. Musbau Akanji, former Vice-Chancellor, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, and Federal University of Technology, Minna, as Chairman.

Other members are Mrs Oluronke Adeyemi, a Legal Practitioner; Mr Munirudeen Abiodun, former Deputy Bursar, Unilorin; Mr Musliudeen Adegoke, former Deputy Registrar, Unilorin; Dr Quadri Nurudeen, Al-Hikmah University; and Mr Shuaibu Muhammed, former Registrar, Kwara State University, Malete.

The Chairman of the committee, Prof. Musbau Akanji, thanked the chairman of the BOT for the confidence reposed in the committee.

Akanji promised that the committee would not betray the trust by delivering on its terms of reference.

He said that the exercise was urgently needed as a step toward ensuring that staff productivity was optimized.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Jeleel Ojuade, commended members of the committee for accepting to serve unconditionally, given their busy schedules.

Ojuade while appreciating the Chancellor and new owner of the university, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, said that the exercise, which he dubbed ‘the dawn of a new beginning’, was in fulfilment of his promise as the third vice-chancellor of the university.

He assured all members of staff that the exercise was not to witch-hunt, humiliate, embarrass or harrass anyone but to rejig the university.
