Count me out of Bruce, Amaechi twitter exchanges, says Ekweremadu

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has distanced himself from social media face-off between Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Ben Bruce.
This is contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Uche Anichukwu, in Abuja on Monday.
It said that Ekweremadu had no twitter or other social media accounts and could, therefore, not have re-tweeted any part of the exchanges between both men as being peddled in the media.
“The office wishes to reiterate to members of the public that the said twitter handle does not belong to the person or Office of the Deputy President of the Senate.
“For the umpteenth time, Senator Ekweremadu does not own a twitter handle and his other social media accounts were dismantled several years ago as explained in previous statements by the office.
“Several of such fake twitter and other social media handles were duly reported to the respective platforms and were taken down.
“While the Deputy President of the Senate does not shirk from airing his views on issues as he deems fit, he will not accept to be attributed comments he never made.
“Therefore, the office once again calls on members of the public to discountenance such fictitious social media handles and comments as they have absolutely nothing to do with his person or office,” it said.
It would be recalled that Bruce and Amaechi had exchanges on twitter.
In one of the tweets, Bruce allegedly expressed displeasure over President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged reference to Nigerians as criminals, saying that one of his ministers hosted a party with N80 million.
