DPR to grant NDPR licence to operate 1000bpd modular refinery

Refinery

Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof AbdulGaniyu Ambali, has urged the Federal Government to build small scale refineries across the country to solve the problem of fuel scarcity.
This is contained in the university’s bulletin in Ilorin on Monday.
According to the bulletin, the VC made the remark while interacting with Dr Victor Adeniran, the Group Executive Director, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Ambali said that such refinery would check the activities of illegal refineries.

He supported the arrest and prosecution of the operators of local/illegal refineries but said that the government could harness their knowledge for the project.

Ambali commended Adeniran for being a worthy ambassador of the university, pointing out that the university would be ready to provide any level of expertise the NNPC would require.

The bulletin reported Ambali as saying that NNPC was critical to the survival of the country.

It noted that it was what NNPC generated as revenue that also contributed to the growth and development of the university.

In his remarks, Adeniran said that the NNPC had 493 filling stations operating under its logo and 37 NNPC filling stations nationwide.

In addition, he said that the company planned to build three more filling stations in each state of the federation, assuring that the company would overcome the problem of pipeline vandalisation.

Adeniran expressed joy at the development in the university and commended the vice-chancellor for doing “a great job”.
