BUK Alumni honour Katsina NIS Comptroller, DC NSCDC, others

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Alumni of Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies graduates of 2000, on Friday honoured four of their members serving with various organizations in Katsina State.

Those honoured were the state Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Alhaji Adamu Mohammed-Azare, and the Deputy Commandant,  Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC),  Alhaji Nuhu Dalha.

Others were Jibrin Tanko-Giginyu, ACC, NSCDC, who is the Area Commander, Daura, and CSP Salahuddeen Lawal, officer in charge of Special Investigation Bureau (SIB), Katsina Police Command.

The event was organized by the Katsina Chapter of the association to welcome, congratulate and rejoice with them on their promotions and posting to the state.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the alumni association, Alhaji Mukhtar Abdulmumini, thanked Almighty Allah on their elevation to various positions in their organizations.

He prayed for God’s guidance, blessings and protection in their new assignments.

Abdulmumini said that the reception was to welcome them and pray for their success, adding: “we want to show them that Katsina is really a home of hospitality.

“We lived with them as friends, brothers and students irrespective of our backgrounds, hence the decision to organize the reception in their honor.”

Members of the association, Malam Aminu Ibrahim and Usman Muhammad who commented on Comptroller Mohammed and DC Dalha, described them as complete gentlemen, friendly and hardworking.

Also speaking, Dr Aminu Sa’idu, a lecturer in the History Department of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, advised well-to-do members of the association to identify and support the needy among their course-mates.

Another member, Abubakar Tanimu-Yar’adua, Deputy Registrar, UMYU, urged members to continue to be good ambassadors of the association and their alma mater wherever they find themselves.

Responding on behalf of the celebrants, Mohammed, thanked the association for organizing the reception in their honor.

He said that the gathering brought forth memories of their undergraduate days in BUK, 23 years ago.

Mohammed assured that they were ready to support any member who might need their assistance.
