Brighton Thrash Chelsea 3-0 as Blues Extend Scoreless Run

Chelsea’s struggles in the English Premier League deepened after a heavy 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium, marking their fifth consecutive league defeat without scoring.

Brighton wasted no time asserting control, with Ferdi Kadıoğlu opening the scoring in the third minute following a well-worked corner routine.

The early goal set the tone for the match, as the hosts dominated possession and created multiple chances against a struggling Chelsea side.

Despite efforts from goalkeeper Robert Sánchez, Chelsea failed to contain Brighton’s attacking pressure throughout the game.

The visitors’ defensive lapses proved costly, particularly in the second half when Moisés Caicedo lost possession, allowing Georginio Rutter to set up Jack Hinshelwood for Brighton’s second goal in the 56th minute.

Chelsea’s attacking play lacked urgency, with the team struggling to create meaningful chances and only managing a late effort in the first half.

Frustration among supporters grew as the match progressed, with calls intensifying for head coach Liam Rosenior to be replaced following another disappointing performance.

Brighton sealed the victory in stoppage time when Danny Welbeck converted from close range after a low cross from Maxim De Cuyper.

The win moves Brighton above Chelsea into sixth place, strengthening their chances of securing European qualification with just four matches remaining in the season.

Chelsea’s poor form continues despite significant investment in the squad, including high-profile signings such as Caicedo.

The London club will now turn attention to their FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United at Wembley, hoping to salvage their season.
