Usain Bolt said he is over the “slight ankle problem” which caused him to miss some practice session earlier this year.
In January, the super star had stopped training for two weeks, but told journalists at Wednesday’s launch of the Racers Grand Prix to be staged on June 11, that “I had a slight ankle problem” and “I am in training now and every thing is going well.”
“I feel good in training and I am happy with where things are,” said Bolt, who will be going for an unprecedented three straight Olympic Games sprint double titles in Rio this summer.
Bolt, who also won four 200m and three 100m titles at the World Championships between 2009 and 2015, is however, unaware when he will open his season.
“My coach doesn’t like to rush me into running until he feels comfortable and happy with my progress and everything,” he said.
Coach Glen Mills confirmed in an Observer article, “he will definitely compete in May, but as to the actual date and time I am not able to say as there are a number of options still available.”
