Blatter, Valcke to face media July 20

FIFA has confirmed that outgoing president Sepp Blatter will face the media on July 20 for the first time since he announced he would step down from the game’s governing body.
Blatter and Secretary-General, Jerome Valcke, will both take part in a media conference after an executive committee meeting which will be held to decide the date for the extraordinary FIFA Congress and presidential election.
The 79-year-old announced his resignation as FIFA president on June 2, just four days after winning a fifth term in Zurich.
He said he would lay down his mandate and call a fresh election where he would not be a candidate.
FIFA was in turmoil at the time of the announcement after the arrest and indictment of officials in late May on bribery, money laundering and wire fraud charges.
Seven of those accused were arrested by Swiss police in a dawn raid on a luxury Zurich hotel two days before the FIFA Congress where Blatter was re-elected.
