Beckham impressed with Dele Alli’s ‘no fear’ attitude

Former England captain, David Beckham, thinks the country will be right behind Tottenham youngster, Dele Alli, when he lines up at Euro 2016 this summer.
Beckham says Alli and his fellow young guns in the new-look England squad need to make sure they enjoy themselves at their first big tournament.
Alli will head to France fresh from landing the PFA Young Player of the Year award, having had a fine season in which he has won his first England caps, scoring a memorable goal in a 2-0 friendly win over France.

Beckham won 115 caps for England and, speaking at the newly-reopened adidas Store on Oxford Street, said Alli is a prospect who excites him.

“I like Dele Alli because he plays with no fear,” said Beckham. “He is a young and confident player who is not afraid to show how good he is on the field.

“Every fan, every England fan, every Tottenham fan, wants to see him step onto the field and do well at Euro 2016.”

England’s Euro 2016 campaign gets underway on June 11 against Russia, before matches against Wales (June 16) and Slovakia (June 20).

Asked if he had any advice for young players like Alli who are set to play in their first big tournament as senior internationals, Beckham added: “Go out there and enjoy it, because these occasions don’t come around that often.

“When you have a chance to play for your country and a chance to play in a big competition, you have got to enjoy the moment and just go out for the win.”
