Bayern vs. Real, Liverpool vs. AS Roma in Champions League semis

Bayern Munich will face Real Madrid and Liverpool will take on AS Roma in the semi-finals of the Champions League following the draw at UEFA’s headquarters on Friday.
The Reds surprised fellow Premier League team Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals fixture and are now rewarded with a two-leg tie against Roma on 24 or 25 April before the return leg on 1 or 2 May.
There is another twist to the semi-final game against Roma, as Liverpool’s top scorer Mohamed Salah will face the club he left for £34m last season.
The English club, who won the Champions League in 2005, have lost just one of their five previous meetings with Roma in all competitions, including victory in the 1983-84 European Cup final.
Roma remarkably defeated Barcelona 3-0 on Wednesday to overturn a 4-1 deficit and winning on away goals after a 4-4 aggregate draw.
Spanish giants Real Madrid will face Bayern Munich in the other fixture on the road to setting yet another record in the tournament, as they have won the competition in three of the past four seasons.
Madrid had to grind a tough second-leg result against Jeventus, having comfortably defeated the Italian side 3-0 in the first leg.
The semi-final first-leg fixtures will be played on April 24 and 25, with second leg matches to be decided on May 1 and 2.
The Champions League final will be held in Kiev, Ukraine on Saturday, May 26.
