Bayelsa State Government has commended the gallant efforts of its security team that foiled the kidnap attempt of some expatriate workers in the state late last night.

The government in a statement on Sunday night by the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, Boma Spero Jack, said the kidnappers came in a speed boat through the River Nun very close to Yinaka community where they tried to kidnap the expatriates who were on inspection tour at a government sponsored project site but were promptly repelled by the security personnel attached to them.

Spero-Jack assured the public that government will continue to do all that were necessary to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.

He warned criminal elements to stay away from the state as no efforts will be spared to rid the state of criminals and all acts of criminality.
