The remains of the former National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bamanga Tukur, were laid to rest in his hometown, Yola, Adamawa State on Sunday.
The burial, conducted according to Islamic rites, was led by the Chief Imam of Modibbo Adama Central Mosque, Yola, Alhaji Ahmadu Bobboi at 10:50 a.m.
His remains were buried in the family house at Fadde-Sanda, Abuja road, Yola at 11:30 a.m
Tukur died on Saturday in Abuja, three days to his 91st birthday.
He is survived by two wives and 18 children, among them the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Awwal Tukur.
The funeral prayers were attended by Aliko Dangote, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, Sen. Iya Abbas representing Adamawa Central and former Governor Jibrilla Bindow.
Others were traditional leaders and other dignitaries across the state and beyond.
