Freedom Online learned that the meeting deliberated on ways to douse the rising tension after the declaration of Buhari as the winner of the February 23, presidential election.
Already, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has described the election as the worst in Nigeria’s history and vowed to challenge the outcome in court.
Members of the committee had on Thursday night met behind closed doors with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The committee had earlier on Thursday met with Atiku, his running mate, Peter Obi, and other PDP stakeholders.
