Atiku: I’m a democrat, I look forward to a successful transition

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has lauded the mass turnout of voters in the Saturday election.

Abubakar, who spoke with newsmen after casting his vote at Ajiya 02 polling unit of Gwadabawa Ward, Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, said he was highlyimpressed by the turnout.

“I am impressed with the turnout of the people and I hope that INEC officials will be able to cope with the crowd”.

Abubakar, who expressed hope of winning the election, called for a peaceful conduct of the exercise.

He cast his vote at exactly 10.06a.m.

He was accompanied by his wife, Hajia Titi Abubakar, as he went through all the processes.

An optimistic Atiku said he was satisfied with the process so far.

“So far, so good,” Atiku said. “I am impressed with the process. I look forward to a successful transition.”

When asked about what his reaction would be if he loses the election, Atiku simply relied: “I am a democrat.”
