APGA chief seeks intervention of Catholic saints in reconciliation of Obi, Obiano

A chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, has called for divine intervention in the feud between Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State and his predecessor, Peter Obi.
Ezeonwuka said in Awka on Monday that both men were products of same school, Christ the King’s College, Onitsha and also belonged to the same Catholic faith.
“We want the spirit of Fr. Iwene Tansi and all the saints as well as the spirit of Fr. Nicholas Tagbo, their former principal at CKC, at whose grave side both of them embraced recently, to help resolve the misunderstanding in the interest of peace in the state.
“I think, it is only the intervention of Catholic Saints and school’s alma-mater spirit that will resolve this lingering enmity between the two friends,’’ he said.
He said that Obi did well in the development of the state during his tenure and Obiano was equally doing well now.
Ezeonwuka, a member of APGA board of trustee, said the state and the party would be better for it with genuine settlement of the differences.
He condemned the ongoing media attacks by loyalists of the leaders and urged the two leaders to call their men to order as the situation was not in the interest of their persons.
“We will surely have more quality dividends of democracy for the people of the state with two of them coming together to work”.
Ezeonwuka said that some people were cashing in on the crisis to portray the duo in bad light as well as the hard work they had done toward the development of the state.
“They should not allow this crisis to continue so as to put to shame their common seen and unseen enemies,’’ he said.
