APC, PDP, SDP commend peaceful conduct of polls in Ogun

The governorship candidates of the APC, PDP and the Social Democratic (SDP) in Ogun State have commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the governorship and House of Assembly polls in the state.
The candidates are Governor Ibikunle Amosun (APC), Mr Gboyega Isiaka (PDP) and Senator Akin Odunsi (SDP).
They spoke to journalists at their respective polling centres.
Amosun, who voted at Ward 1, Unit 3 at Ajura Polling Centre of Obafemi Owode CouncilArea noted appreciable improvement in the conduct of the polls.
“There is a relative improvement in the performance of the card readers while accreditation and voting commenced as scheduled”.
He commended the determination of the electorate whom he described as “more informed”.
Isiaka, who voted at Ward 2,Unit 6 at the Baptist Primary School, Imeko, Imeko -Afon Local Government Area, commended the security arrangement at the polling centres.
He also commended the security officials for their prompt responses to cases of security breaches in the area.
Isiaka also commended the electorate for their defiance of the rain to perform their civic responsibilities.
“The situation report from other local governments has been fantastic and very encouraging in terms of turn-out and general conduct of the voters,” he said.
Odunsi noted that the success of the polls was a pointer to the fact that Nigeria’s democracy was maturing.
He appealed to all candidates to accept the result of the election in good faith.
