APC, party of propagandists, says Mimiko

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, on Saturday, described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party well grounded in propaganda.
Answering reporters’ questions in Ile-Ife before the arrival of President Goodluck Jonathan for a visit to royal fathers in Osun State, Mimiko said the structure of the APC was propaganda-based to deceive the people of the South-West and Nigerians in general.
He said that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) tried to leverage on the sophistication of the Yoruba and direct their minds to important and concrete issues.
He said different Yoruba groups had been holding conferences to discuss issues of the coming elections and that they had thrown their weight behind the PDP and Jonathan’s second term bid.
The governor said the “desire of the Yoruba is the implementation of the report and resolutions of the national conference which the president had agreed to do.
“The president had made it unequivocally clear that in the first year of his second term, he will implement the resolutions of the conference.”
According to the governor, there is no way change can be achieved or talked about without looking at the resolution of the conference which Jonathan has agreed to implement.
He said that Jonathan was ready to offer what the Yoruba clamoured for through the conference resolutions and “therefore, the South West will vote for Jonathan and the PDP so that he will fulfill his promise to the region”.
Mimiko, who expressed skepticism about the use of voters’ card readers, said there were more questions than answers on the matter.
He questioned the sincerity of INEC and support of the APC for the use of the card readers despite the fact that “it is a technology that has not been tested and which may be prone to errors’’.
