Akure jailbreak: 54 inmates re-arrested

akure_jailbreakFIFTY-FOUR out of the 175 prisoners, who escaped from the Olokuta Medium Prison, Akure/Ondo Road, Akure, Ondo State on Sunday morning, have been rearrested.

They were arrested in various parts of the town on Sunday night and Monday morning.

Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Wole Ogodo, confirmed this.

The prison was attacked by gunmen, using dynamites to blow up walls.

Ogodo assured that other escaped prisoners would be arrested.
